At Hilom Physical Therapy, we specialize in evidenced-based ortho-pelvic health physical therapy tailored to individual's goals and needs. Our holistic approach to recovery and restoration includes a diverse range of therapy techniques, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, functional strengthening, mobility work, and always patient education. Appointments: How long/where are appointments?

Each appointment at Hilom PT is personalized and completely one-on-one, 60-minute sessions. Sessions are held in a private home-based clinic, offering a quiet, comfortable space where you can focus fully on your recovery. No waiting rooms, no overlapping patients, just your goals and your time.

Insurance and Billing: Are you in-network?

Hilom Physical Therapy operates as an out-of-network provider, which allows for fully personalized, one-on-one care without the restrictions of insurance. Payment is collected at the time of your visit, and a superbill (itemized medical receipt) is provided so you can submit it to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Please note: Medicare does not reimburse superbills for physical therapy services at this time. Washington Apple Health (Medicaid) does not permit physical therapy services to be provided on a time-of-service basis, even if the provider is not contracted. For this reason, Hilom Physical Therapy is unable to see patients using Apple Health plans.

Do you perform internal work?

Short answer: Yes! Long answer: Yes! As an Ortho-Pelvic Health PT, Dr. Algerae is trained in internal pelvic floor assessments, though she may assess a bit differently than other pelvic health PTs. Before anything happens, you’ll always get clear education, a thorough medical history review, and a whole-body approach that looks far beyond just the pelvis. Internal exams are only performed with enthusiastic consent, are never mandatory, and are used if they’re helpful for your goals and when they support the treatment plan you set. Your comfort, agency, and understanding come first, always.Payment is collected at the time of your visit, and a superbill (itemized medical receipt) is provided so you can submit it to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Please note: Medicare and Medicaid do not reimburse superbills at this time.

What is Pelvic Health Physical Therapy?

Pelvic Health Physical Therapy is a specialized branch of physical therapy that focuses on the muscles, joints, nerves, and connective tissues of the pelvis, and how they relate to the rest of the body. This includes the hips, knees, feet, spine, abdomen, ribs, shoulder, neck, jaw, and even your breath!

At Hilom Physical Therapy, pelvic health PT is practiced through an evidence-based, trauma-informed, orthopedic approach, meaning we treat the whole person, not just the pelvic floor hammock.

Internal (intravaginal or anorectal) pelvic health assessments and treatments are one tool, not the only tools.

Dr. Algerae is trained in internal pelvic health exams and will only perform them:

  • With enthusiastic and ongoing consent

  • After a thorough health history, screening, and goal-setting conversation

  • When they are clinically appropriate, helpful, and aligned with your comfort level

Your body, your boundaries, your choice,  always.

Other assessments to align with your goals may include: movement screens, functional strength testing, manual muscle testing, joint mobility testing, etc.
